Chateau de Versailles, the official office of power of the 17th century
The Chateau de Versailles was originally built by Louis XIII to serve as a hunting lodge. But it was the illustrious Sun King who transformed it into a veritable palace of luxury and refinement to serve as the official office of power until the French revolution. This historical building, surround by a magnificent park arranged in a French manner, has about 2,300 rooms. The most remarkable room is, without doubt, the mirror gallery which served as a reception and show room.

On the other hand, this exceptional site receives temporary artistic expositions such as The Splendour of Painting on Porcelain in the apartments of Maintenon and in the guard’s rooms.
